- The Venture Builder’s has transferred its new offices to a 480 square meters space on the fourth floor of Palau de Mar.
Barcelona, 8 de junio de 2021 – Mutter Ventures has entered a new stage of growth, moving its headquarters to Pier01. The venture builder has moved to the epicenter of Barcelona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and now occupies 480 square meters of office space on the fourth floor of Palau de Mar.
Pier01 is a building managed by Tech Barcelona, the non-profit association that supports and promotes the digital and technological ecosystem of the Catalan capital. The site is home to more than 100 firms – including start-ups, corporations, incubators, investors, and institutions – and 1,000 professionals spread over 11,000 square meters. Before becoming a reference center for digital entrepreneurship in Barcelona, the building was a port warehouse that was refurbished in 1992 as a result of the Olympic Games that same year. In 2016 the property became the main headquarters of Tech Barcelona.
A hub of innovation
In 2018, Forbes magazine recognized Pier01 as one of the world’s 6 most innovative digital hubs. The building is also the centerpiece of the Tech Barcelona campus, which currently consists of Pier01 itself and Pier03, and will soon be joined by Pier05, Pier Healthtech, and the Urbantech center.
“These offices will allow us to face the growth stage ahead of us at Mutter Ventures. This new space will be key to attracting and retaining talent and, at the same time, offers us the possibility of creating synergies with the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” says Mutter Ventures co-founder and CEO Christian Rodriguez.
Mutter Ventures had its first headquarters at Carrer Sant Vicenç 27, in Barcelona’s El Raval neighborhood. The first start-up launched to the market by the venture builder was Advancing (2018) and later Groenlandia (2020), Fiara (2020), Cobramus (2020), Menai (2020), and Byepack (2020) were created.
